About the role

Conestoga College’s School of Health & Life Sciences is seeking qualified professionals to join the Biotechnology Technician program as part‑time professors. The appointment runs from September 2026 to December 2026 and involves teaching theory and laboratory courses on‑site at the Doon campus.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver scheduled instruction for one to two courses, including classroom, online, and computer‑assisted lab sessions.
• Maintain and update curriculum to reflect current best practices in molecular biology, life‑science research, food & agricultural biotechnology, and microbiology.
• Design assessment tools, evaluate student progress, and keep accurate records.
• Support students in using eConestoga and the D2L learning management system.
• Foster an inclusive learning environment that respects diverse cultures, backgrounds, and learning styles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (master’s or PhD preferred).
• Minimum two years of experience working in a scientific laboratory.
• At least three years of adult or post‑secondary teaching experience.
• Experience teaching molecular biology, life‑science research, food & agricultural biotechnology, or microbiology is preferred.
• Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
