Nurse Supervisor – Clinical Best Practice

About the role

The Nurse Supervisor, Clinical Best Practice provides onsite clinical oversight of Cota’s medication program and leads service‑user engagement initiatives. Working within the Performance, Quality & Risk Management team, this role ensures safe medication practices, supports accreditation readiness, and contributes to client and staff safety across community‑based supportive housing sites.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct weekly onsite medication audits for all supportive housing programs.
• Liaise with pharmacies, prescribers, care teams, and external stakeholders to ensure accurate medication management.
• Co‑chair Cota’s Medication Committee and lead accreditation preparation for medication‑management standards.
• Respond promptly to medication incidents, lead investigations, and implement corrective or preventative actions.
• Develop and implement a service‑user engagement strategy aligned with Accreditation Canada best practices.
• Participate in quality‑improvement activities, safety initiatives, and risk‑management projects.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse licence in Canada.
• Experience in medication management and community‑based health services.
• Familiarity with accreditation standards, particularly Accreditation Canada.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to respond quickly to high‑risk medication scenarios.

Required skills

• Medication reconciliation and administration.
• Conducting medication audits and quality‑improvement processes.
• Knowledge of Accreditation Canada medication‑management standards.
• Incident investigation and corrective‑action planning.
