Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Spaceium is developing spacecraft systems that push the limits of orbital capability. As a Mechanical Engineer you will own the full mechanical design lifecycle, from concept through manufacturing and testing, ensuring that hardware is flight‑ready and reliable.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, assemblies, and structures for spacecraft systems.
• Perform structural, thermal, and tolerance analysis on designs.
• Create detailed 3D models and drawings using CAD software.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners to produce prototypes and flight hardware.
• Develop and execute test plans for mechanical qualification and acceptance.
• Conduct trade studies on materials, fasteners, and joining methods.
• Work with systems, electrical, and software engineers on integrated designs.
• Support assembly, integration, and test activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks or NX.
• Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&T.
• Familiarity with version control or configuration management.
• Curiosity, drive, and ability to learn quickly in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.

What we offer

• Salary range $75,000 – $110,000 CAD per year
• Equity participation of 0.1% – 0.5%
