Marine Operations Assistant – Summer Position

About the role

Port Charlottetown is seeking a motivated student to join the Marine Operations team for a 9‑week summer position. You will work side‑by‑side with the Terminal Operations Manager, gaining hands‑on exposure to cruise‑port activities and learning industry best practices in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Shadow and support the Terminal Operations Manager in daily cruise‑terminal setup.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to monitor real‑time port operations.
• Assist in gathering and analysing data from cruise lines and other ports for strategic planning.
• Help design and maintain an organized file‑management system for the busy season.
• Perform a variety of tasks across departments to ensure efficient cruise operations and a positive guest experience.

Required profile

• Proficiency in English; bilingualism is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Willingness to work outdoors, lift, stand, and bend as needed.
• Availability to work weekends and evenings, especially on cruise days.
• Ability to multitask, work independently and as part of a supportive team.

Required skills

• Basic computer and file‑management skills.
