Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Maintenance Manager reports to the Vice President and is responsible for overseeing maintenance programs at Albarrie’s two Canadian facilities. This role combines strategic planning with hands‑on mechanical work to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and cost‑effective operation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop long‑term maintenance strategies aligned with business objectives, focusing on reliability, sustainability and cost efficiency.
• Design and optimise preventative and predictive maintenance schedules using data analytics to minimise downtime.
• Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget, monitor expenditures and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Lead the adoption and continuous improvement of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and other digital tools.
• Negotiate service agreements with suppliers and contractors, evaluating performance for quality and cost‑effectiveness.
• Drive process‑improvement initiatives, including Lean principles and energy‑efficiency projects.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing maintenance team, fostering a culture of safety and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and procurement to align maintenance activities with production schedules.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing maintenance operations in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of asset management, budgeting and cost optimisation.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and develop talent.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with senior leadership and external partners.
• Hands‑on mechanical aptitude and willingness to work directly on machinery.

Required skills

• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Data‑analytics capability for maintenance planning.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
