Legal Artifact Expert – Contract Lawyer (Remote)

About the role

Mercor is seeking an experienced lawyer to serve as a Legal Artifact Expert. This contract position is fully remote and focuses on reviewing, drafting, and improving legal documents for AI research labs.

Key responsibilities

• Review existing legal documents and provide detailed, constructive feedback.
• Create original legal artifacts from scratch, including contract drafts, memos, and briefs.
• Annotate and comment on artifacts to improve structure, reasoning, and legal rigor.
• Apply legal expertise to ensure artifacts reflect realistic, high‑quality professional output.
• Work independently and asynchronously, delivering consistent, high‑quality work on a flexible schedule.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional legal experience as a practicing lawyer or attorney.
• Bar admission in any jurisdiction.
• Background in litigation, corporate, transactional, regulatory, contracts, IP, or general counsel work.
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.
• Self‑directed and able to deliver consistent work on a flexible schedule.
