Laboratory Assistant – Float Position

About the role

Dynacare is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Assistant (Float) to join its Ontario labs. You will process blood and other specimens, enter requisitions and results accurately, and provide compassionate customer service to patients.

Key responsibilities

• Collect blood samples and other specimens using proper venipuncture techniques.
• Perform ECGs, Holter hookups, paternity, urine, drug, and breath‑alcohol collections.
• Sort, label, and transport specimens according to SOPs.
• Enter patient, test, and requisition data accurately for Ministry of Health reporting.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
• Support departmental quality metrics and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Completed secondary school and a Laboratory Assistant training program or equivalent.
• Ability to work day shifts (6:30 am – 5:30 pm) across multiple locations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle stressful situations with empathy.
