IT Shop Floor Support Technician

About the role

We are looking for a proactive IT Shop Floor Support Technician to deliver front‑line IT assistance within Bombardier’s production environment. You will ensure that production‑critical hardware and software run smoothly, minimizing downtime for operators and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for all IT incidents on the shop floor, responding quickly to minimise operational impact.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot and repair industrial PCs, rugged tablets, barcode scanners, label printers (e.g., Zebra) and other peripherals.
• Deploy new workstations, apply software updates and set up network equipment in a manufacturing setting.
• Diagnose and resolve LAN/Wi‑Fi connectivity issues related to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and PLC interface computers.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and software assets on the factory floor.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of desktop support experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Active Directory.
• Hands‑on hardware troubleshooting skills; PCB repair experience is a plus.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non‑technical operators.
• Proven problem‑solving abilities in high‑pressure situations.
