Heavy Truck and Construction Equipment Operator

About the role

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility of Quebec is recruiting heavy‑truck drivers and construction‑equipment operators for its service centres across the Côte‑Nord region. These are occasional positions with the possibility of recall and regular employment, working 38.75 hours per week starting in October 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Perform earth‑moving, construction and road‑network maintenance tasks as required by various teams.
• Operate three‑ or four‑axle trucks for bulk material transport, impact‑attenuation, bridge‑laying, aerial work platforms or crane functions.
• Use a pneumatic loader to load bulk materials.
• Drive trucks towing 12‑to‑30‑ton trailers or seat‑belt‑type trucks over 30 tons.
• Manoeuvre construction machinery such as retro‑excavators, brush trucks, asphalt rollers, compactors, pavers and graders.
• Participate in manual team work including paving, grading, fence repair, patching, ground signalling and related tasks.

Required profile

• Valid heavy‑vehicle driver’s licence.
• Ability to operate a variety of construction and road‑maintenance equipment.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Team‑oriented attitude and commitment to safety.
