ESG Co-op/Internship – Fall 2026

About the role

Use your research, investment and data science skills in a fast‑growing, responsible‑investment firm. The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is hiring two co‑op/intern students for the Fall 2026 term (September‑December) to support ESG research across multiple asset classes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct ESG research and write analysis for public equities, fixed income, private debt and alternative strategies.
• Assist in preparing ESG discussions with portfolio companies, policy makers and standard‑setters.
• Support the ESG Total Fund Strategy & Risk team by building financial models, developing economic scenarios and analysing ESG data.
• Identify systemic ESG risks and opportunities and contribute to mitigation and adaptation recommendations.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a university program relevant to finance, economics, data science or a related field.
• Strong interest in environmental, social and governance issues and responsible investing.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Data‑science techniques for analysing large ESG datasets.
• Financial modeling and quantitative analysis.
