About the role

Join a collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. The 24/7 emergency department sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, offering a diverse case mix and ample procedural experience in a supportive rural setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to a broad patient population.
• Collaborate with internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry specialists.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development opportunities such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 program.
• Contribute to the ongoing redevelopment of the hospital’s emergency department and future service expansions.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP (EM) or FRCPC certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in Canada.
• Emergency department experience is an asset but not mandatory; mentorship is provided for new graduates and international medical graduates.
