Communications Assistant

About the role

The Office of Tim Louis, Member of Parliament for Kitchener-Conestoga, is seeking a dynamic Communications Assistant to support community‑focused communications and outreach across the riding. Based in the constituency office, you will create compelling digital content that informs and engages constituents with federal initiatives and local services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute social‑media strategies on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and X.
• Create high‑quality visual assets, including graphics, photography, and short‑form videos for digital and print use.
• Design and produce newsletters, mailers, and other outreach materials while maintaining brand consistency.
• Maintain and update the Member’s website with current, accessible content.
• Support event communications through on‑site photography, videography, and live social‑media coverage.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in communications, graphic design, digital media, marketing or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in communications, marketing, or related internships/co‑ops.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Creative thinker with a keen eye for visual storytelling and branding consistency.
