Buyer – Procurement Specialist in Apparel & Athletics

About the role

The Buyer will support Avery Dennison’s fast‑paced apparel and athletics business by managing end‑to‑end procurement activities. Reporting with moderate guidance, the role acts as the connective tissue between Sales, Finance, Production and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Create, track and resolve issues for purchase orders, ensuring timely shipments and addressing logistics bottlenecks.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels, preventing shortages and excess dead stock through proactive demand forecasting.
• Oversee departmental budgets, audit invoices and drive high ROI on all spend.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Finance, Production) to align procurement strategies with overall business goals.
• Conduct ethical sourcing audits, reviewing supplier labor practices and environmental impact.

Required profile

• Sports‑oriented professional with a strong analytical mindset.
• Experience in identifying and vetting suppliers and supporting contract negotiations.
• Ability to solve straightforward operational problems using standard procedures.
• Comfort working under moderate supervision while coordinating across multiple departments.
