About the role
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in delivering an outstanding customer experience, driving sales, and maintaining high standards on the sales floor and stockroom. This role combines hands‑on leadership, staff development, and operational oversight in a fast‑paced retail environment.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure all associates complete required training and continuously develop product knowledge, selling skills, and visual merchandising.
- Lead by example on the floor, providing coaching, feedback, and support to sales, desk, and stock staff.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards, store cleanliness, and organization of the sales floor and stockroom.
- Achieve or exceed store profitability targets, including sales, payroll, shrink, and conversion goals.
- Manage payroll compliance and enforce loss‑prevention measures.
- Uphold all company policies and procedures, ensuring consistent policy compliance.
- Make sound decisions, communicate effectively, and demonstrate integrity, respect, and adaptability.
Required profile
- Minimum two years of retail experience with a proven record of driving sales and profit.
- Experience training and developing a team of sales, desk, and stock associates.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 30 lb and stand for at least eight hours per shift.
