Architect II – Ottawa

About the role

Merrick Canada is looking for a creative, analytical, and detail‑oriented Architect II to join its multidisciplinary team in Ottawa. You will work on high‑profile projects in the Life Sciences, Nuclear, and National Security sectors, delivering high‑integrity building solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior architects and clients to define project requirements.
• Model complex facilities and produce detailed plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Perform construction site inspections and coordinate with design and construction professionals.
• Support BIM workflows and ensure compliance with building and laboratory codes.

Required profile

• Professional architecture degree certified by the CACB and eligibility for OAA licensure in Ontario.
• Minimum four (4) years of architectural experience.
• Working knowledge of current building codes, heavy commercial, institutional, and industrial construction methods.
• Ability to travel internationally; Canadian citizenship or permanent residency required.
• Eligibility for Government of Canada Reliability and Secret level clearances.

Required skills

• Proficiency with BIM software.
• Advanced skills in Revit.
• Advanced skills in AutoCAD.
