Accountant – Financial Administration (Oakville)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage and coordinate the financial administration of our division in Oakville. You will work closely with senior staff and the corporate accounting team to ensure accurate reporting and support profitability initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly financial statements with analysis and commentary.
• Conduct variance analysis on income and expenses.
• Maintain accounting records in Business Central and oversee production/statistical databases.
• Assist the regional controller with audits, budgeting, forecasts, and month‑end close activities.
• Prepare municipal invoices, revenue‑share schedules, HST and Statistics Canada reports.
• Generate daily and monthly bank reports and manage vendor invoice processing and customer collections.
• Provide financial assistance to Operations Managers to improve division profitability.
• Perform ad‑hoc reporting and other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or waste‑management environments.
• Strong organizational, time‑management and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work under deadlines and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using Business Central accounting software.
• Familiarity with RTA Fleet Management Software, Navusoft or Materials Manager (asset).
