Tax Instructor (Contract)

About the role

The King's University is seeking a contract Tax Instructor to join its Faculty of Business in Edmonton. This on‑site position involves delivering undergraduate courses on taxation, creating engaging lesson plans, and supporting student success in a Christian‑based learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate taxation courses, delivering lectures, tutorials and assessments.
• Develop and update lesson plans, syllabi and instructional materials aligned with current tax legislation.
• Assess student performance, provide timely feedback and maintain accurate grading records.
• Stay current on changes to tax laws and integrate practical, real‑world examples into coursework.
• Foster an inclusive, respectful classroom atmosphere that reflects the university’s Christian values.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws, policies and recent developments.
• Experience in teaching, course design and lesson planning at the post‑secondary level.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation or a related field; CPA designation is an asset.
• Commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Experience incorporating Christian perspectives into teaching is a plus.
