Red Seal Powerline Technician – Ontario (Journeyperson to Foreperson)

About the role

Hydro One Networks Inc. is seeking Red Seal‑qualified Powerline Technicians to work on transmission line projects across the Central and Eastern zones of Ontario. The positions are available immediately for a 12‑month term, with the possibility of extension, and follow a 4‑day, 40‑hour work week.

Key responsibilities

• Construct, maintain, and refurbish transmission lines and related infrastructure.
• String transmission lines, assemble and erect transmission towers.
• Replace insulators, wood poles, shieldwire, and install OPGW.
• Perform conductor dead‑ending, looping and related tasks.
• Plan and schedule resources for day‑to‑day activities on TX Program Work and TX Capital Projects.

Required profile

• Valid G licence and a maintained DZ or AZ driver’s licence.
• Red Seal certification as a Powerline Technician Journeyperson.
• Physical ability to climb towers and poles, lift up to 25 kg and work in extreme weather.
• Willingness to perform rescue techniques, including bucket evacuation.
• Previous supervisory or transmission experience is an asset.
