Red Seal Powerline Technician – Ontario (Journeyperson, Subforeperson, Foreperson)

About the role

The Canadian Union of Skilled Workers is recruiting Red Seal‑certified Powerline Technicians for Hydro One Networks Inc. projects across Ontario’s Eastern and Central zones. Positions are available for Journeypersons, Sub‑forepersons and Forepersons, with an immediate start date and a 4‑day, 40‑hour work week.

Key responsibilities

• Construction, maintenance and refurbishment of transmission lines and the bulk electrical system.
• Planning, scheduling and execution of day‑to‑day activities for TX Program and TX Capital Projects.
• Stringing transmission lines, assembling and erecting transmission towers.
• Performing insulator, wood‑pole, shield‑wire and OPGW replacements.
• Conducting conductor dead‑ending, looping and related tasks.

Required profile

• Valid G licence and a Red Seal Powerline Technician Journeyperson certification.
• Physical ability to climb towers and poles, lift up to 25 kg and work in extreme weather.
• Capability to perform rescue techniques, including bucket evacuation.
• Valid DZ or AZ driver’s licence.
• Previous supervisory or transmission experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of Hydro One safety rules and procedures is an asset.
