Director of Manufacturing

About the role

The client, an established manufacturing company with over 25 years of history, is looking for an experienced Director of Manufacturing to lead product manufacturing operations in Toronto. This senior position reports to senior management and is responsible for ensuring high‑quality output while driving efficiency across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee product manufacturing and guarantee the production of quality goods.
• Optimize workflow and plant layout to improve throughput.
• Initiate equipment upgrades and capital investment requests.
• Develop and manage budgets, monitor key performance indicators, and control costs.
• Prepare and present quotations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Deliver regular performance reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in engineering, business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience as a Production/Manufacturing manager or as a Director in a similar manufacturing environment (e.g., bathroom/kitchen/cabinet, furniture).
• Proven experience managing KPIs such as scrap rates, labor efficiency, and production metrics.
• Strong background in budget management and financial reporting.
• Willingness to work on the shop floor and lift up to 15 pounds.
