About the role
The Administrative Secretary provides essential clerical support to Program Managers within the Selkirk Mental Health Centre. This position ensures smooth daily operations by handling job postings, staffing reports, and schedule updates in a fast‑paced health‑care environment.
Key responsibilities
- Process job postings, maintain position control, and register new hires for orientation.
- Monitor staffing levels and keep managers informed of changes.
- Maintain employee profiles and daily schedules in the ESP staff scheduling system.
- Generate staffing reports and update day‑to‑day schedule changes as requested.
- Coordinate the manager’s appointment calendar and perform additional clerical duties as needed.
Required profile
- Minimum two years of related clerical experience, preferably in a health‑care setting.
- Completion of Grade 12 and a recognized secretarial training program.
- Strong English communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work safely in a typical office environment with frequent meetings.
Required skills
- Typing speed of at least 50 wpm and knowledge of medical terminology (minimum pass mark 75%).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience using SAP ESP for staff scheduling.
