Recruiter – Industrial Construction Talent Acquisition

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Recruiter to lead full‑cycle talent acquisition for skilled trades, supervisors and technical positions within our industrial construction projects. The role supports rapid workforce growth while ensuring compliance with safety, certification and union requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment for trades such as welders, pipefitters, millwrights, ironworkers and electricians.
• Source candidates through direct outreach, networking, job fairs and career events.
• Build and maintain talent pipelines for high‑demand trades.
• Partner with project managers and site leadership to forecast staffing needs.
• Develop relationships with trade schools, apprenticeship programs and industry associations.
• Coordinate pre‑access and onboarding tasks, including certifications, drug/alcohol testing and safety orientations.
• Screen and interview candidates focusing on technical and cultural fit.
• Maintain accurate records in the ATS and report recruitment metrics.
• Provide day‑to‑day HR support and assist with HR initiatives and projects.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Business Administration – Human Resources (preferred).
• 1–4 years of recruitment experience, preferably in industrial construction, trades, oil & gas or heavy civil sectors.
• Experience working in union environments and interpreting collective agreements.
• Familiarity with employment contracts and offer letter administration.
• Valid driver’s licence for occasional site visits.
• CPHR designation in progress is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
