Mainframe Assembler Developer

About the role

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Mainframe Assembler Developer to join its Canadian team. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications using Assembler and JCL while providing production support. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliable delivery of critical business solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe Assembler (MVS) code and JCL scripts.
• Provide production support for existing mainframe applications.
• Collaborate with project teams to meet support and project requirements.
• Apply analytical and problem‑solving skills to resolve technical issues.
• Contribute to data‑driven decision making and influence technical direction.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in mainframe development (typically several years) combined with a technology‑related degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proven collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Ability to influence decisions and work with data‑driven approaches.
