Grade 1 Teacher – Part-Time Interim Position

About the role

Park Meadows Elementary School is seeking a part‑time (0.5 FTE) interim Grade 1 teacher to start on August 25 2026. The school serves approximately 300 students and values inclusion, community connection, and student empowerment. This role will contribute to a supportive learning environment focused on literacy, numeracy, and inquiry‑based learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging literacy and numeracy lessons for Grade 1 students.
• Implement inquiry‑based learning strategies to foster curiosity and critical thinking.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere through effective management techniques.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and families to support student success.

Required profile

• Valid teaching certification for elementary education.
• Experience teaching Grade 1 or early elementary grades.
• Strong understanding of inclusive education practices.
• Ability to plan, assess, and adapt instruction based on student needs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
