Registered Nurse II – Maternal‑Child Care

About the role

The Nurse II provides comprehensive nursing care to patients, residents and clients within Prairie Mountain Health facilities, focusing on maternal‑child services. This full‑time position requires active licensure in Manitoba and a commitment to delivering care in line with provincial standards and ethical guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to mothers, newborns and families according to established policies and procedures.
• Maintain compliance with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba standards, the Regulated Health Professions Act and the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics.
• Document care accurately using electronic health record systems.
• Participate in interdisciplinary teams and contribute to patient care planning.
• Uphold professional competencies through ongoing education and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Active practising licence with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (or eligibility).
• Minimum one year full‑time experience in maternal‑child nursing within the past three years, or successful completion of an accredited midwifery program.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification.
• Completion of an online Introduction to Fetal Heart Monitoring course.
• Strong problem‑solving, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
