Locum Plastic Surgeon – Nanaimo, BC

About the role

The Division of Plastic Surgery in Nanaimo, BC is seeking a qualified plastic surgeon for a locum assignment covering August to December 2026. Start dates and duration are negotiable, allowing for multiple short‑term placements. The role includes paid on‑call coverage alongside seven other surgeons from the North Island Plastic Surgery group.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive plastic surgery services, including breast reconstruction, hand surgery, facial trauma repair, skin cancer management, and microsurgery.
• Participate in on‑call rotations with the North Island Plastic Surgery team covering Nanaimo and Campbell River.
• Maintain high standards of patient care, documentation, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Contribute to the teaching environment when appropriate.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible plastic surgeon with full licensure to practice in British Columbia.
• Experience in a broad range of plastic surgery procedures, particularly those listed under responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative on‑call team.
• Willingness to adapt to flexible scheduling and locum arrangements.
