Hospitalist – Inpatient Physician (Part‑time/Locum)

About the role

The local physician group is seeking qualified family physicians to join the inpatient team at Saanich Peninsula Hospital. This part‑time or locum position provides comprehensive care for a diverse inpatient population, including high‑acuity, palliative, rehabilitation, and dementia patients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide inpatient coverage across a range of clinical acuity levels.
• Deliver palliative and end‑of‑life care, as well as rehabilitation‑focused services.
• Participate in flexible shift schedules with a minimum commitment of six weeks per year.
• Optionally work in the emergency department under the family‑physician scope.
• Collaborate with specialists and an interdisciplinary team, benefiting from mentorship and CME programs.

Required profile

• Licensed family medicine physician eligible to practice in British Columbia.
• Willingness to work part‑time or as a locum in an inpatient setting.
• Experience in inpatient care; experience in palliative care, MAiD, or long‑term care is an asset.
• Commitment to culturally safe practice and teamwork.
