About the role
Air Canada is seeking a highly skilled Structures Engineer to join the TechOps Fleet Engineering Team on a temporary basis. The role focuses on in‑service reliability, configuration management, cost control and continuous process improvement for the airline’s fleet.
Key responsibilities
- Review aircraft and component out‑of‑service events, perform root‑cause analysis and recommend reliability improvements.
- Support the Reliability Working Group and conduct delay analysis (AOG, OOS, cancellations, ATB) with corrective action plans.
- Assess Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives, prepare cost‑benefit analyses and develop Engineering Instructions (EI) and Engineering Controls (EC).
- Assist with aircraft modification programs, fleet acquisitions and project engineering for new mandates.
- Develop and obtain financial approvals for mandatory airworthiness requirements and continuous airworthiness inspections.
- Disseminate technical information through fleet campaigns, EI/EC releases and MEL revisions.
- Provide technical support to Maintenance Operation Control, Line Maintenance, Flight Operations, MROs and other internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to maintenance‑program optimization and cost‑of‑ownership reduction through modifications and repair development.
Required profile
- Qualified Structures Engineer with experience in aircraft reliability and configuration management.
- Proven ability to conduct root‑cause and delay analyses and to develop cost‑benefit studies.
- Willingness to travel and provide off‑hours support as required.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
