Emergency Medicine Physician – Kamloops

About the role

The Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) in Kamloops is seeking Emergency Medicine physicians to join a dynamic, collegial group of 32 doctors. RIH is a UBC teaching hospital serving a regional catchment of about 250,000 people, with 273 beds and roughly 75,000 emergency visits per year.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality emergency care and trauma management across 14 shifts per month (full‑time schedule).
• Participate in the High Acuity Response Team (HART) for regional critical‑patient transport.
• Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and family practice trainees.
• Engage in monthly journal clubs, quality rounds, and trauma rounds.

Required profile

• Medical degree and board certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in British Columbia.
• Ability to work full‑time or part‑time within the described shift structure.
• Collaborative, collegial attitude and interest in teaching.
