Course Lecturer – Strategic Mine Planning with Uncertainty (Fall 2026)

About the role

McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer to co‑teach MIME 413/513 Strategic Mine Planning with Uncertainty for the Fall 2026 term. The position involves delivering approximately 19.5 hours of instruction (50% of the course) and supporting a professor in course preparation and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and tutorials on stochastic optimization, uncertainty quantification, and orebody representation.
• Assist in designing course materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Provide guidance to students on mine design, production scheduling, and sustainable resource utilization.
• Collaborate with the co‑instructor and Teaching and Learning Services to ensure high‑quality in‑person instruction.

Required profile

• PhD preferred (Master’s acceptable depending on expertise).
• Demonstrated teaching and research experience in strategic mine planning.
• Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
