Android Software Developer

About the role

TextNow is looking for an Android Software Developer to design, build, and maintain high‑performance mobile applications. You will work on both the front‑end app and the underlying systems that enable its functionality, collaborating across product, design, backend, and data teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and sustain Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Java.
• Lead architectural modernization, modularization, and cross‑platform reuse initiatives.
• Own the full lifecycle of features: ideation, API design, CI/CD deployment, monitoring, testing (unit, UI, e2e), telemetry, and A/B experimentation.
• Evaluate and adopt new Android platform capabilities and device form factors.
• Apply AI‑driven tools and automation to accelerate development, code analysis, testing, and reliability.
• Define observability standards, telemetry pipelines, and fault‑tolerance strategies for production systems.
• Mentor developers, drive technical discussions, and influence strategic direction across mobile platforms.
